We’re excited to introduce a new and improved version of Scala Share — our anonymous file-sharing service built on IPFS!

Since its inception, Scala Share has empowered users to share files securely and anonymously through the power of IPFS. No accounts, no logins—just simple, decentralized file sharing.

Today, we’re taking it a step further with key updates that enhance security, branding, and accessibility.

New Branding, New Domain: scala.sh

With this new version, we’ve also introduced some refinements to our branding to better reflect our mission. As part of this effort, Scala Share is now accessible via a new domain: scala.sh.

This shorter, more memorable domain aligns with the Scala ecosystem and makes it even easier for users to access the service.

Upload Files Directly from the Command Line

We’re making file uploads even simpler with CLI support, a highly requested feature from our community. You can now upload files directly from your terminal using curl or similar tools:

curl -X POST https://scala.sh/ -F "files=@./cool.txt"

This feature streamlines integration with scripts and automation, making Scala Share even more versatile for power users.

Upgraded Backend: From js-ipfs to Helia & Kubo

Under the hood, we’ve made a major shift in our backend infrastructure. We’ve moved away from js-ipfs and have now adopted Helia and Kubo for handling IPFS operations.

This transition brings:

  • Better performance and stability 🚀
  • Improved IPFS compatibility 🔗
  • Future-proof architecture that aligns with ongoing developments in decentralized storage

Try It Out!

Visit scala.sh and experience the new and improved Scala Share. No registrations, no personal data—just fast, anonymous, and decentralized file sharing.
